Lightsounds are just about to drop Circuit Breaker 2, the second instalment in a series of dance music compilations that promotes original, independent Australian electronic music. Music artists, DJs, bands and producers were asked to submit tracks for the compilation, and 250 entries later the Circuit Breaker 2 CD and online album will be released on June 1st.
To help celebrate the release, Lightsounds is taking the concept one step further, with a Mash-Up competition to win studio and DJ gear prizes. All you need to do is get hold of the CD at a Lightsounds retail outlet or email marketing@lightsounds.com.au and we’ll post you one out (after June 1st). Then get busy on the decks, or on your digital DJ rigs, and mash up your favourite tunes. Choose whatever tracks you like from the 12 on the CD with mash-ups between 3 and 5 minutes.
Then mail us the track or a link. There’s some groovy gear up for grabs like an MPK49, Ableton Live 8, Propellerhead Duo and Native Instrument plug-ins. Mash-Ups will be judged on skills, style and appeal, with winners notified by close of play July 31st. The tracks will then be posted on the lightsounds.com.au website for all to hear and enjoy.
