With DJ Hertz already clocking 90 hours into the official record attempt on the world’s longest DJ set, things are looking positive for the aspiring Brisbane DJ. The attempt is taking place at Birdees, Brisbane in the name of charity, with all proceeds going to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. Smokin Joe Mekhael has already stated that his world record attempt was actually 18 hours short of the current record held by the Californian based DJ DC. No problems for Hertz however who has done his research and knows that he has to play for over 150 hours to officially claim the title. When Lightsounds spoke to Hertz at the 90 hour mark he sounded very confident, with a steady stream of well wishers and supporters behind him. And Smokin Joe has now thrown his support behind Hertz as well offering advice on how to combat the incredible fatigue. Lightsounds has kindly provided the DJ rig that Hertz is using including a Pioneer DJM2000 with 2 x CDJ2000s. Brisbane holds their Monster Garage Sale this Saturday so get on down to snap up a monster bargain and pop in and see Hertz smash the record up the road at Birdies.
